Rae is on the move

(Rae loves Q-tips and does this dress look familiar...ah-hem...Tiffany?...It's as old as you!!)
So this last week has been quite eventful.  Rae decided to learn how to crawl!!!  She just started crawling out of nowhere.  I didn't know if she would even learn to crawl b/c she was so focused on walking forever. She's funny b/c she only crawls with one leg, so she has this gimpy crawl, but it does the trick.

Rae crawling:

I gave up on her walking anytime TOO soon b/c she was really stubborn and didn't want to walk unless we held her hand.  Here is a video from a couple weeks ago of her not wanting to walk....and she's really tired and her mom is teasing her.  That wasn't nice of me, especially b/c her whine makes me cringe b/c I feel like that's her main communication:

A few days after she learned how to crawl, she started walking on her own.  She lets go of our hands now and will take off walking.  Rae is also starting to talk a little bit.  Totally crazy!!  She says "hi", "wow", "baby", "mama", "dada", "baba", and I am sure there are some more....oh, she even makes car noises.  I don't know where she picked that up ;)

Rae walking and talking:

Rae has also learned how to wave in the past few days.  That's super fun. I love when babies learn that:

Mack is doing well.  He is talking more and more every day.  My favorite word he says is "alright."  He starts a lot of his sentences with "alright".....then always has something to say about cars...(he says alright in the background of Rae's walking video).  He also asks the question "Where are?"  a lot.  I think that is cute.
Mack's biggest thing is prayers.  He won't eat his food until we pray, and if he gets seconds, then we pray again, and thirds, again...you get the picture.  So we say a lot of prayers.  The best part is Rae has learned how to fold her arms and I think that is so cute.  Mack doesn't say the prayer, he just tells us what to pray for which usually is a list "cars, pancakes (which can be any food that is flat), baby Way, money (me), daddy, Mack, aouch (apple), etc."  He's learning lots of food words which is fun, oh, and when he does something silly, he says, "Oh, Mack."  He's fun.

Covey is really good at having Mack help him with projects.  Here is Mack and Covey breaking down a nightstand (I got it at Goodwill for parts.... to fix our dresser...it was cheaper to buy the entire nightstand than the parts at the hardware store.)

Rae, of course, is always willing to help.

This is a pic of me with some of my favorite Latins.  The Latin elder is from LA, whose dad was my bishop and his brother was my WML, and his sisters knocked with me A LOT when I served there.  What a tender mercy!!  The other Latins are in our ward, whom I love, and Mack LOVES his cars:)

Mack and the ABC's

This past month has been really fun.  Rae is still working on walking by herself...she is getting better.  She loves to walk back and forth in between adults, but won't up and walk around by herself.  Even Mack likes to walk in between adults b/c he sees Rae has such a good time, he wants to join in on the fun.  haha.

A big update this month is we doubled our garden and needed some extra help, so we purchased this AWESOME Gorilla cart that is a wagon, which the kids love to take rides in and a wheelbarrow (it holds up to 600lbs and dumps it out). Here are pics of Mack and Rae helping Covey put it together:

Another update is I spent all month planning a Murder Mystery Dinner party that we threw this past weekend.  It was a lot of fun, but we didn't get any pics:(  There were some awesome costumes too.

Mack continues to talk more and more and his vocab seems to be growing exponentially. It's fun, but still frustrating at times b/c I still don't understand everything he is trying to communicate.  I wanted to make sure to get him on video b/c once he's past this stage, it will never be the same.  So here are some videos of Mack talking:

Guess who's walking....well, taking steps?

Look at me, updating the blog again so quickly.  Haha!  Well, Rae decided to take her first steps yesterday, so I had to document it and share the good news. I, personally, can't believe it, but I love when my babies start walking.  Life seems to get a little easier for the both of us.  Now, if only she would sleep through the night....she has reversed (she was once upon a time sleeping 8-10 hour nights and now it's 2-3 hour intervals)....her and Finnley must have some international vibe they're sharing.  I hope Hudson and Nathan don't pick it up.  Here are some videos of all our AMAZING ;) (haha) updates:

Rae's 1st steps:

Mack takes the trash up the driveway every week :)

My female Bolt:

Rae in her Jenny Jump up:

Mack thinks it's so funny when Rae walks, hence the laughing when he sees her "walking."

Here is a pic of Mack from yesterday.  I was getting out 3T clothes for him and he got so excited when he saw these fire truck pajamas.  Any truck he calls "qwackuhs" = tractors....he uses the same word for crackers.  But, any kind of emergency vehicle is called a "woowoo woowoo woowoo" (ya know, the sound of a siren).  Hence, the puckered lips while I took the pic of him in his "woowoo qwackuh" pajamas.

End of Summer 2013

I guess it's about time for me to update this blog again.  It seems like the days are flying by, so I am glad I took pics of some things b/c I don't know if I can remember everything we did recently.  My mind gets foggier and foggier the older and more motherly I become ;)

We went to the Bremerton Airport to the Blackberry Festival. We watched airplanes take off all morning and looked at some really cool cars.  Covey LOVED this WWII plane...and so did Mack:)
The owner of this car let Mack get in and "drive" it
I think he was just in awe the whole time

They always have war vehicles at the fair and Mack and Covey were like little boys playing on them

 Happy boys
One man had a fancy truck with collectible toy cars in the back.  He let the kids pick a car.  Mack couldn't decide.  He wanted all of them.
Playing outside. Rae LOVES her daddy:) and Mack loves his "money" (mommy).
Rae did a front flip out the front door in her walker.  Ouch!!  Her face looked pretty beat up.
Remember those 25 cent cars at the grocery store?  They still have them!!!
Well, now they're 50 cents, and even though they don't do much, I really wanted the kids to take a ride.  They had no complaints;)
Port Angeles beach.  It was cold, but refreshing.
 Mack loves the sand :)
Our kids love popcorn.  Mack calls it "ohn" = "corn". Thanks, Mom, for the popcorn popper:)
Rae can't get enough of it either.  They think it's hilarious when Mack feeds Rae.  I have to watch carefully b/c Mack overstuffs her mouth.
Mack thinks this is great bonding time.  Drinking bottles together and lying on top of Rae.
Luckily, she doesn't mind....most of the time.   Unfortunately, for Mack, his bottle days are numbered.
Mack LOVES watching car shows on Youtube.  He can now count to 4 and sing the ABC song all in vowel sounds..."A, E, A, I, A, E, O..." The other day I got mad at him, and started counting, which I have never done to him before, and so I sternly said, "1..." and Mack finished "1, 2, 3, 4." I just started laughing b/c I had never heard him count that far consecutively and he was just as serious as me.  haha.

Mack and Rae riding Mack's favorite car.  He thinks it's funny to push Rae with his car while she's in her walker.   Sometimes she laughs and sometimes she whines.
Mack eating purple potatoes.  He loves potatoes.
Mack and Rae eating potatoes.  Mmmm!! Mack enjoyed helping me dig these out of the garden and got really excited when we'd find them...me too.  I LOVE digging for potatoes:).
Rae stands on the edge of the couch and plays with her toys.  That's more fun to her than sitting, but her favorite is if we hold her hands and walk her around.  She gets frustrated when she sits too long and starts rocking and moaning.
Mack's new (balance) bike from Aunt Becky and Uncle Manuel as a super early Christmas gift that we got yesterday. Thanks!! This was the first day/time he rode it and he was so excited.  He kept saying "bike, bike, bike" over and over.  He just walks it up and down the driveway though.  He doesn't know what to think of sitting on the seat, but he'll get the hang of it and be zooming on it in no time.

Here are some videos.  I don't know if they will be overly exciting for everyone.  Some are kinda long, but I made them not only for my video archives, but for those who want to see my kids doing normal things and get to know them better via videos.  ENJOY!!!

Rae eating plums

Rae loves her walker
(This video is older. Nowadays, she plows over everything super fast...including our toes.  She's a fearless walker woman.)

Mack and Rae eating potatoes (I love when Rae can sit at the table with Mack.)  This is long and probably not very exciting....just FYI.

Mack naming animals with words and sounds. (This one is super long.)  I just wanted to record him saying his words and sounds b/c that will change soon.

Rae getting tickled.  She laughs all the time, but I can never get it on video b/c she's like her brother, so distracted by the camera.

Mack's talking (He was singing the alphabet right before I started recording and then he wouldn't when I started filming:( ).

Mack and Rae eating popcorn (They were cracking up at each other right before I turned the camera)

Summer 2013

I always mean to update this more often, but I guess late is better than nothing at all, right?  So we've had quite the fun summer and it's weird to think people are starting school again soon, but, I must say, I absolutely love the feeling of not having to start school.  Life is great b/c I don't stress about trying to cram everything I want to do into a few short months, instead I constantly am thinking of places to visit year round:)  Well, enough chit chat, let's get to the good stuff: PICTURES AND VIDEOS!!!!!
